The walrus (Odobenus rosmarus) is a large pinniped marine mammal that lives in the Arctic Ocean and the subarctic seas of the Northern Hemisphere. It is recognisable for its long tusks, which can reach a length of one meter. Females also have tusks, but they are shorter. It is the third largest pinniped in the world after both species of elephant seals. Its main diet consists of bivalves, but includes shrimps, crabs, corals, spoon worms, tube worms, priapulids, tunicates, sea cucumbers, other mollusks, and slow-moving fishes. There are only two predators of the walrus: the orca and the polar bear. The walrus is listed as vulnerable by the IUCN due to global warming.

Jurassic Park: Builder[]
The walrus is mentioned in the 4th evolution fact of Odobenocetops (where it is said that both are similar).
Trivia[]
- Walrus sounds were combined with that of other animal to create the sounds made by the Velociraptors, Indominus rex, and Distortus rex.
- The Scutosaurus toys produced by Kenner for Jurassic Park Series 2 (which was canceled) and The Lost World Series 1 were incorrectly portrayed as bearing walrus-like tusks on their chins.
- In Jurassic World: The Game, the grunts of a walrus were used with the growls of a lion, a tiger, and a leopard, and the grunts of a rhino and a pig for the different sounds made by some of the game's amphibians like Kaprosuchus, Nundasuchus, Ostaposaurus, Postosuchus, and Prestosuchus (which were actually different types of archosaurs astride from Ostaposaurus which had DNA from the temnospondyl Microposaurus).
