Wu's research laptop was Henry Wu's private laptop documenting years of his research into creating Hybrid Dinosaurs. Left behind during the Jurassic World Incident, it was discovered six months later by the Nublar Six before being destroyed by them to keep Wu from using the data to create any more hybrids.

Season 3[]
While searching the island, Brooklynn and Sammy Gutierrez find Wu's secret lab and the laptop which Brooklynn is disappointed to discover has no Wi-Fi. Browsing through Wu's videos, the girls learn about his creation of the Scorpios rex, its attack on Wu, and how he had left it in stasis. The two then see that the hybrid has escaped.[1]
After Sammy is poisoned, Brooklynn remembers the video on the laptop of Wu being attacked and Eddie and his assistants giving him an antidote. Racing to the lab, Yaz is able to find it to save Sammy's life.[2]
Shortly after the deaths of the two Scorpios rexes, Wu returns to the island with mercenaries working for Eli Mills to retrieve a bone from the Indominus rex corpse and his laptop in order to improve the Scorpios rex and create more hybrids. Brooklynn, Yaz and Darius manage to sneak in and steal the laptop first, intending to turn it over to the authorities in Costa Rica and expose Wu's actions. The three witness Wu frantically searching for it, telling Hawkes that without the years of research stored on the laptop, it will take him years instead of months to replicate his work for Mills. As Wu's group moves to search other labs for the laptop, the campers agree that they must do whatever it takes to keep it from him. As Brooklynn is captured by Hawkes, she gives the laptop to Darius, ordering him to keep it away from Wu.[3]
Hawkes and his men pursue Darius and Yaz, but Reed is eaten by Chaos and Limbo. Hawkes gives the pair two hours to bring the laptop to him, warning that they won't ever see Brooklynn again otherwise. After an argument, the campers decide to copy the laptop onto a flash drive and wipe it before giving the laptop to Wu and keeping the data for the authorities. However, while they succeed in copying it, Kenji Kon stops the deletion process, unwilling to risk Brooklynn's life. Kenji gives the laptop to Wu, but before he can check it, Ben Pincus unleashes Bumpy and a herd of Ankylosaurus. During the stampede, Wu loses the laptop which is grabbed by Sammy. As Hawkes chases after Sammy and Yaz, Sammy throws it into the air at Hawkes, and it smashes against the back of an Ankylosaurus, destroying any chance of Wu recreating the Scorpios rex or using it to make any more hybrids. With the news that the Indominus rex sample was successfully retrieved, Wu is satisfied and stops Hawkes from chasing the campers in retaliation.[4]

Years later, while confronting Wu about Project Theropod Axis, Ben Pincus reminds the geneticist that he had kidnapped Brooklynn over a laptop when Wu asks for help in stopping Lewis Dodgson.[5]
